Delicious - social bookmarking tool that enables you to save URL’s (Universal Resource Locator) or web addresses to a personal account; free service, requires a registration; organize bookmarks using tags to sort or search, add notes, or share with others in your network; allows teachers and students to save URL’s in a portable format that can be reached from any browser, and to collaborate by sharing these with their network.

Wikispaces - hosting site for wikis; requires the user to register to create a wiki; can be protected, private or open; can support a variety of media and allow collaboration between classes, schools and groups around the planet; facilitates collaboration and sharing and enables the development of shared resources in a controllable environment.
Edmodo - an online classroom communications tool for teachers and students to share Notes, Files, links, and assignments

Twitter - microblogging and personal communication tool; allows the user to send short messages of up to 140 characters while either addressing a message directly (and privately) at a person, at a person in a public forum or in a general announcement.

Video Conferencing/ VoIP

Skype - Internet-based telephone and videoconferencing tool; very effective and widely used service with many features that allows multi-person voice conferencing, as well as one-to-one videoconferencing; basic video call service is free between Skype members and, for a nominal charge, a user can also purchase “Skype credit” to make direct phone calls through the interface to a cell phone or landline.



Publishing Tools

Adobe Buzzword  is an online collaborative word processor from Adobe. It allows you to create and share documents between a group of collaborators. The author of the document sets the rights of the collaborators who may be co-authors, reviewers, etc. Existing documents can be imported in a variety of formats, including Microsoft documents and Open Office.
